Emotional Support and Well-being Services

Through our onsite Community Advising Network (CAN) counselor and support groups, we provide different ways to support your mental health and wellness.

CAN Counseling

Roxana Reyes, CAN Counselor, will be available to see students. She offers mental health and wellness resources. In collaboration with Student Health and Counseling Services, Roxana brings a wealth of experience in providing students with comfort and support. [fall, winter, and spring quarters]

Adelante Mujeres

This group is designed to provide a safe and supportive environment to explore personal experiences on campus, gain emotional support, promote self-care, and enhance community among Chicana/Latina students. This six-week session is free and students must agree to attend all six sessions to help ensure a rich group experience for themselves and other participants. Participants must schedule a consultation with the facilitator (Roxana Reyes, LMFT) prior to the start date. [fall and spring quarters]

In Lak'ech (Mujeres/Women's Support Group)

In Lak’ech is a Chicana/Latina Women’s Therapy group. The goal of In Lak’ech is to decolonize the therapeutic encounter. By identifying and creating culturally appropriate methods and practices of healing, we free ourselves from Euro-Centric assumptions and prescriptions for our lives. Abandoning Western ideas of therapy groups, and apoyando our gente the way we know how, con dichos, cuentos, chistes, chisme y comida. If interested students must contact Roxana Reyes, LMFT or Adriana Torres, LMFT. [fall, winter, and spring quarters]

TLACELEL (Men's Support Group)

TLACELEL is our Chicano and Latino Men's Support group. We meet informally to chat with each other and form a network of support. Together we re-define what it means to be a men at UC Davis and explore where we stand in higher education. [fall, winter, and spring quarters]

Mental Menudo

Mental Menudo is an open forum for students to come experience comunidad, learn about mental health and wellness, and enjoy some good menudo! The forum intends to Introduce students to various mental health topics which have an impact on their academic success and general life functioning. Also, introduces students to the Community Advising Network, Student Health and Counseling Services staff, and other resources on campus. [fall, winter, and spring quarters]
