Academic Advising

Academic advisors from the four colleges offer drop in academic advising sessions and also schedule appointments with students. The advisors offer holistic advising and connect our students to relevant and needed resources on campus.

CAN Counseling

Roxana Reyes, CAN Counselor, will be available to see students. She offers mental health and wellness resources. In collaboration with Student Health and Counseling Services, Roxana brings a wealth of experience in providing students with comfort and support.

TLACELEL (Men's Support Group)

TLACELEL is our Chicano and Latino Men Support group. We meet informally to chat with each other and form a network of support. Together we re-define what it means to be a men at UC Davis and explore where we stand in higher education.

Chicano and Latino Men Course CHI 98/198

The purpose of this course is to create a space where Chicano and Latino success in higher education is re-defined by exploring and challenging traditional views of what it means to be Chicano and Latino men. Students participating in this course will learn about where the Chicano and Latino man stands with regards to higher education.

Chicana and Latina Mujeres Course FYS 004

The purpose of this course is to create a space where Chicanas and Latinas can engage in dialogue about what success in higher education means for them.  We intend to re-define traditional views of what it means to be a Chicana/Latina woman in higher education by exploring and challenging cultural strength and challenge that conflict with mainstream institutions.

Internship and Career Center Hours

In collaboration with the Internship and Career Center, CCLASS hosts a Career Advisor on a weekly basis. The Career Advisor is prepared to provide students with drop-in internship and career/job preparation advising. Come in for resume, cover letter, or internship search support.

Math/Statistics, Physics, and Writing Specialists

In collaboration with the Student Academic Success Center, CCLASS offers academic support in math/statistics, physics, and writing twice a week. Each specialist hosts 1-3 hour sessions each time they visit.

Latte with a Librarian

In collaboration with Shields Library, El Centro will host two professional librarians who are ready to help you navigate databases and find empirical research studies for your research papers and projects. Come get support and enjoy some good coffee at El Centro!

Pan Dulce with Physics Specialist Support

In collaboration with the Student Academic Success Center, on Tuesday mornings our Physics Specialist offers drop in hours at CCLASS for students to get their physics questions answered. We offer pan dulce and coffee during this time.

La Gran Tardeada

The annual La Gran Tardeada, also known as Tardeada, is the culmination of La Raza Cultural Days. The event is sponsored by the Cross Cultural Center. It is a free, day-long event, held on the UC Davis Quad and open to all, that celebrates Chicanx and Latinx culture with traditional food sold by student organizations, a children’s fair and student and professional performances.

Chicanx Studies Symposium

Taking place during La Raza Cultural Days, this annual symposium allows both students, faculty and community members to gather and discuss contemporary pressing issues affecting the Chicanx and Latinx community. Past symposium topics include: SB1070 and the battle for ethnic studies in Arizona, Central/South American identities and feminism within our community. The symposium is sponsored by the Cross Cultural Center.

Danzantes del Alma Annual Show

Danzantes del Alma has been showcasing their talents in Mexican folkloric dance since 1977. The troupe performs many times during the year, hosts workshops and contributes to the larger Davis and UC Davis communities. The troupe performs on campus during spring quarter. This event is sponsored by the Cross Cultural Center.
